State Representative David Harris (R-Arlington Heights), joined by State Rep. Tom Morrison (R-Palatine) and Senator Matt Murphy (R-Palatine), held a public forum on Tuesday, Oct. 21st to inform constituents and hear comments about Senate Bill 16, a significant rewrite of Illinois’ school aid formula.

State Representative David Harris, State Senator Matt Murphy and State Representative Tom Morrison will host a Town Hall Meeting on Senate Bill 16.  SB 16 makes major changes to education funding in our State, and the impact of those changes are significant for the districts in our northwest suburban area.

Town Hall Particulars:

Location:       Metropolis Theater - 111 West Campbell in downtown Arlington Heights (there is a large parking garage ½ block south of the theater on Vail).

Time:             Tuesday, October 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Attendance:   Open to all interested in education funding

Participants:  Three area legislators, Chris Koch, Illinois Superintendent of Education and a representative of Advance Illinois, the key group advocating for Senate Bill 16

Senate Bill 16 passed the Senate in the Spring session.  It could come for a vote in the House at any time when the legislature returns to session after the election, so this is a timely topic.  Given the importance of the bill, I hope you will try to attend the Town Hall.
